Lovely: Philip Dunning, 44, was left almost speechless after learning he had scooped the jackpot
Mr Dunning was told he had hit the jackpot when he phoned the National Lottery to check his winning ticket.
A recording of the call has been released by the National Lottery in which he appears to take the news incredibly calmly.
The father-of-two starts by saying: 'Erm, I believe I have the winning jackpot ticket from last night's lottery draw. I'm shaking like a leaf here.'
The call handler confirms he has won a staggering £7,864,529 which is greeted with the one word 'Lovely.'
Mr Dunning then adds: 'I'm speechless, to be honest with you. I don't know what to actually say.
'It's just... er... surreal. I think that's the only word I can use to describe it. It's all a bit of a dream!'
He then bursts into ecstatic laughter and says 'thank you very much' before hanging up.
Mr Dunning first heard he may have won when the best friend of his partner Gina Meikle, 45, rang to tell him the numbers she did every week had come up.

Mr Dunning now plans to swoop his modest Vauxhall Astra for an Aston Martin
Sandra Easton, who always checked their numbers for the couple, phoned to say: 'Turn on the television, you've won the lottery!'
Philip then called the National Lottery to confirm - before turning up to his normal 4am shift the following day to hand in his notice after 15 years.
Gina, his partner of 11 years who also worked at the factory, did the same.
Philip, of Bo'ness, Falkirk, said: 'I kept the winning ticket in my wallet. I kept checking it throughout my shift, just to make sure it was still there.'
Their first spending priorities will be a new house and swapping their Vauxhall Astra for an Aston Martin.
